ACT IV - SCENE IV. The field of battle.
Alarum. Excursions. Enter PISTOL, French Soldier, and Boy

PISTOL
1    Yield, cur!
PISTOL
3    Qualtitie calmie custure me! Art thou a gentleman?
4    what is thy name? discuss.
French Soldier
5    O Seigneur Dieu!
PISTOL
6    O, Signieur Dew should be a gentleman:
7    Perpend my words, O Signieur Dew, and mark;
8    O Signieur Dew, thou diest on point of fox,
9    Except, O signieur, thou do give to me
10   Egregious ransom.
French Soldier
11   O, prenez misericorde! ayez pitie de moi!
PISTOL
12   Moy shall not serve; I will have forty moys;
13   Or I will fetch thy rim out at thy throat
14   In drops of crimson blood.
PISTOL
16   Brass, cur!
17   Thou damned and luxurious mountain goat,
18   Offer'st me brass?
French Soldier
19   O pardonnez moi!
PISTOL
20   Say'st thou me so? is that a ton of moys?
21   Come hither, boy: ask me this slave in French
22   What is his name.
Boy
23   Ecoutez: comment etes-vous appele?
French Soldier
24   Monsieur le Fer.
Boy
25   He says his name is Master Fer.
PISTOL
26   Master Fer! I'll fer him, and firk him, and ferret
27   him: discuss the same in French unto him.
Boy
28   I do not know the French for fer, and ferret, and firk.
PISTOL
29   Bid him prepare; for I will cut his throat.
French Soldier
30   Que dit-il, monsieur?
Boy
PISTOL
34   Owy, cuppele gorge, permafoy,
35   Peasant, unless thou give me crowns, brave crowns;
36   Or mangled shalt thou be by this my sword.
PISTOL
40   What are his words?
Boy
41   He prays you to save his life: he is a gentleman of
42   a good house; and for his ransom he will give you
43   two hundred crowns.
PISTOL
44   Tell him my fury shall abate, and I the crowns will take.
French Soldier
45   Petit monsieur, que dit-il?
Boy
PISTOL
54   Expound unto me, boy.
Boy
55   He gives you, upon his knees, a thousand thanks; and
56   he esteems himself happy that he hath fallen into
57   the hands of one, as he thinks, the most brave,
58   valorous, and thrice-worthy signieur of England.
PISTOL
59   As I suck blood, I will some mercy show.
60   Follow me!
Boy
61   Suivez-vous le grand capitaine.
Exeunt PISTOL, and French Soldier
62   I did never know so full a voice issue from so
63   empty a heart: but the saying is true 'The empty
64   vessel makes the greatest sound.' Bardolph and Nym
65   had ten times more valour than this roaring devil i'
66   the old play, that every one may pare his nails with
67   a wooden dagger; and they are both hanged; and so
68   would this be, if he durst steal any thing
69   adventurously. I must stay with the lackeys, with
70   the luggage of our camp: the French might have a
71   good prey of us, if he knew of it; for there is
72   none to guard it but boys.
