Emo Rock
An arty offshoot of hardcore punk, emo is an important force in underground rock. Some members of the genre lean toward the progressive side, with complex guitar work, unorthodox song structures, arty noise, and extreme dynamic shifts. generally emo lyrics are deeply personal, usually either free-associative poetry or confessionals.
