Possibly the most recognised bagpipe, this instrument used to play closer to a concert A (440Hz), but has been raised to almost painful 480Hz and even 490Hz in some pipe bands. With three single blade drones and a double blade chanter, this may also be the loudest of the bagpipe instruments.
