2001: Signed by Arista Records

During a school trip to New York City the 16 year old Avril is signed to the record deal Arista Records.

2001: Begins Recording First Album

After moving to New York, Avril, with a team of writers, begins writing and recording her first album.

2001: Begins Re-recording Ablum in LA

After agreeing that the current album is poorly done, Avril and her managers decide to scrap the current songs and move her to LA to work with a new team. The change is successful and the album is finished within the year.

March, 2002: "Complicated" Released Online

Avril's website offers her first single online.
