Apply to Edit

Before proceeding with your application, please take the time to read those suggestions that offer an overview of the process.

Open-site aims to develop the most comprehensive informational resource on the web, using the power of volunteer editors. By giving everybody the ability to make a difference, we give to the Internet community the tools to govern itself.

Becoming an editor is a great opportunity to work in a diverse cultural environment, next to others in order to build together an useful resource that is shared back to the Internet community.

It is our desire to welcome any help that it is been offered to us in reaching this goal, but we will not accept all applications that we receive. Your application is a sample of how you will react and edit as a potential new editor. The information you will give will be reviewed by senior Open-site editors, who will accept or reject your application at their discretion.

Here are some tips that can help write a better application:

  • fill out all the required fields. Incomplete applications will be rejected. Be honest in your application.
  • use normal orthography and spelling, suitable to the language in which you are applying. Orthography, spelling or capitalization errors lower the chances of been accepted.
  • by taking a look at our editorial guidelines, you might get an idea about how editors are expected to act in the editing environment.
  • Open Site aims to be a fair and impartial resource on the web. Those editors that use their editorial login in order to promote their business, their interests, their personal agenda, to manipulate content with the purpose of promoting the sites they are affiliated with, or/and to harm the competition, will have their editorial accounts revoked.

Open-Site is an encyclopedia. Please do not fill out an editor application if your only intent is to promote a website. Editor applications are for new editors only!
