In the United Kingdom, a battle is often described between Britain's left-wing Guardian newspaper and the right-wing News Corporation newspapers, although the battle is often exaggerated. Broadcasters in Britain include the independent ITV and the government-controlled Channel 4 and BBC.
Ireland is covered by several broadcasters, including CanWest's TV3, national broadcaster RTE, Irish-language station TG4 and broadcaster UTV. Newspapers include The Irish Independent, The Irish Examiner and The Irish Times.
Germany is home to the international broadcaster Deutsche Welle, which produces a variety of programming that is shown across the world, including a series of hourly 30 minute news bulletins called 'Journal' that alternate between German and English every hour, as well as lifestyle, automotive and current affairs programmes. A number of variety of military newspapers are also located in Germany.
