Description

Bicycle road racing consists of riding a bicycle upon hard surface such as a asphalt or conrete.

The course most often will consists of several miles or kilometers and will be premarked with directional arrows along the way. Water points maybe provided along the way so that they rider may keep hydrated.

Safety equipment usually consists of only a helmet but elbow and knee pads can be worn as well. Helmets are usually shaped to provide the best aerodynamics so that wind resistance is minimal. The outfit of the road racer is made up of tight fitting, expandable, and breathable cloth.

The first person to navigate the course in the least amount of time is the winner.
