The powered paraglider operates at speeds around 25 mph. Altitude gains can be achieved up to 18,000 feet or higher. Normal operation consists of flight to elevations of 500 to 1000 feet.
Most powered paragliders are equipped with a fuel tank that will hold four gallons of gasoline. Typically, one gallon of fuel will last about one hour of flight time. With no head wind or tail wind, the pilot normally can fly for almost 100 miles without shutting the engine off.
Takeoffs and landing are usually accomplished within 300 feet.
