Veterinary science is the field concerned with the treatment and biological study of animals, excluding humans. Because of the great diversity among the animal species, veterinarians must master a broad base of knowledge to adequately care for domestic animals, such as pets, zoo and farm animals, and in limited cases, wild animals.
