The Mega Man series, also known as "Rock Man" in Japan, mainly consists of games where players would maneuver through various stage obstacles to then do battle against a nemesis robot that obtains a special power which Mega Man can then learn to utilize against others. The popularity of the series has resulted in the franchise expanding into other genres which utilize the theme of the Mega Man universe and Mega Man has also been established as Capcom's official mascot.
