Objective and History

Yu-Gi-Oh! is a card game based on a comic book written in 1996. The comic book evolved into an animated series, that failed with the general public. The game, however, remained intact and had a following. In 1998, with the launch of a new series of Yu-Gi-Oh cartoon, interest in the card game rose dramatically. This interest continues to grow as the 21st century begins.

The point of the game is to defeat the opponent using monsters, spells and traps.
This can be accomplished through the following means:

  • By bringing down the opponent's life points to 0.

  • If the opponent cannot draw a card during their draw phase, the player wins.

  • If any player's hand contains the following cards in their hand: Exodia the Forbidden One, The Right Arm of Exodia, The Right Leg of Exodia, The Left Arm of Exodia, and The Left Leg of Exodia, they win the game immediately.
