Overview

Painting is essentially the practice of applying a pigment (or coloring matter), combined with a medium (or binding agent), to a surface.

The objective is to create an aesthetic work in a two dimensional form. Surfaces used can include paper, canvas, wood, walls or metals. A variety of mediums are also utilized such as watercolor, oils, egg temperas and acrylics.
