Martin Short and Danny Glover star in Pure Luck - a rollicking, lighthearted comedy-adventure set in Acapulco. Eugene Proctor Short is the unluckiest man in the world. He has a knack for running into things, falling over things and being struck by lightning - twice. His luck is about to change when Valerie Sheila Kelley, his boss' equally unlucky daughter, disappears. Operating on the theory that it takes one to find one, Proctor is sent on a mission with no-nonsense veteran detective Raymond Campanella Glover to rescue the world's most accident-prone heiress. As they retrace Valerie's steps, they are beset by unimaginable mishaps from malfunctioning machinery to near-fatal bee stings in this hilarious, fast-paced comedy from the writers of Kindergarten Cop and Twins.

This weak, 1991 remake of the French comedy La Chèvre stars Danny Glover as a detective who is sent to Mexico to find a businessman's daughter Sheila Kelley and who gets stuck with a hapless assistant Martin Short. The film wears out its welcome very quickly, despite some passable physical comedy from Short. Both actors have made much better movies; don't be surprised if you can't make it through to the end of this one. --Tom Keogh
